Does anyone have suggestions on how to measure this at home without a dedicated blood measure monitor or stethoscope?

I would say that's close to impossible, even with a stethoscope & measure cuff measuring by yourself is hard. Try a pharmacy - as part of their ad-campaigns they often let you try out their electronic blood measure monitors for free. Or just next time at the doctor's, it's part of a normal check-up routine anyway :)
